Generate Sustainable Breakthroughs Kaizen is
a primary source of change and sustainable breakthrough improvements for
companies on their journey to best in class performance. Begin to engage all of
your associates in implementing change in the workplace.
FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLE - COST ADD/VALUE ADD
The typical business process is 30% value added and 70% cost added.
Cost added activities are the activities that if the customer knew they went on
they would not willingly pay for them. The Kaizen team event eliminates these
non-value added activities and reduces your processes to the core value or
work.
During the workshop a dedicated team is formed. What you will
experience in this workshop:
EXPLAINING KAIZEN AND LEAN CONCEPTS Provides
conceptual training on the nine types of waste, the elements of Lean, three
step methodology for waste elimination and Kaizen event rules.
UNDERSTAND AND DOCUMENT THE TARGET WORK PROCESS
Identify and understand specific problems the team will work on. A
process map of the "is condition" is created. A standard work sheet is
developed to define the interaction of associates and their environment when
processing the product or service.
EVALUATE THE TARGET WORK PROCESS
Understanding the forms of waste. Analyze the amounts and sources of
waste in the target work process.
SOLVE THE PERFORMANCE ISSUE Tools such as
brainstorming are covered. Improvement ideas are generated and selected. A
"should be condition" is formulated.
ACT TO IMPROVE TARGET WORK PROCESS
Improvement ideas are executed based upon developed action plans. Results are
documented and ongoing performance metrics are discussed.
INSTITUTIONALIZE THE PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS
New procedures and work instructions for the new processes are developed.
Follow up actions are also created.
