PERSPECTIVE
Lean Manufacturing is an important step on the journey to World Class manufacturing. This course will present the 12 elements that make up Lean Manufacturing. When the 12 elements are operational the result is an enterprise with short manufacturing cycles, a focus on total quality and a habit of continuous improvement.

Companies implementing the 12 lean elements are achieving the following results:

TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT
Defines the four elements of Lean Manufacturing in the area of Technology Management with an objective of a flexible production environment. The elements discussed are structured flow manufacturing, small lot production, setup reduction, and fitness for use.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
Explains the four elements of Lean Manufacturing in the area of People Management with an objective of a capability for rapid improvement. The elements defines are total employee involvement, control through visibility, housekeeping, and total quality focus.

SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT
Defines the four elements of Lean Manufacturing in the area of Systems Management with an objective of the careful application of resources. The elements discussed are level load and balanced flow, preventative maintenance, supplier partnerships and pull systems.

SIMULATION EXERCISE
Attendees will participate in a simulation exercise demonstrating push versus pull systems. This simulation will provide a visualization of the 12 elements in the areas of technology, people and systems management that make up Lean Manufacturing.

STEPS TO SUCCESS
Describes the seven steps to Lean Manufacturing implementation. Steps discussed are from the experiences of successful lean companies. This section provides the attendee with a proven methodology for making Lean Manufacturing happen in their company.

COMPANY ACTION PROGRAM
Each management team/attendee will participate in structured discussion with question/answer team activities specifically designed to help each student come away from the course with a specific plan of action for Lean manufacturing implementation.

INTERACTIVE LEARNING
This course maximizes the team learning experience by helping make application to each company's environment. This is accomplished by team discussion, case study analysis and highly experienced course leaders.
